Amrita Arora and Shakeel Ladak’s luxurious Beachside Cliff-Top Goa Restaurant

Amrita Arora and her husband, Shakeel Ladak, recently kickstarted a new venture – a newly opened restaurant perched above the Anjuna beach in Goa – Jolene By The Sea. Yes, the name is inspired by the famous Dolly Parton song. The pictures of the beachside spot were shared on Instagram by Viral Bhayani. Let’s take a look inside Amrita’s restaurant, which boasts global cuisine, sophisticated interiors and more.

Perched on a cliff overlooking Anjuna Beach, Jolene By The Sea is a restaurant inspired by the travels of its hosts, Amrita and Shakeel. The menu is crafted by renowned chef Suvir Saran, while experienced restaurateurs Gaurav Batra and Ankit Tayal co-founded the venture. Conceived during the pandemic, this eatery brings together comfort food with global influences, a relaxed tropical ambiance, and interiors that blend sophistication with a bohemian touch.

Designed by Ayushi Malik, the space features floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the interiors with natural light, an outdoor sea-facing deck with intimate gazebos, and a casual lounge area—all offering breathtaking ocean views. The décor includes grand chandeliers, high ceilings, mixed wood furniture, sand-colored sofas and curtains, and lush greenery, including palm trees, that add vibrancy to the setting.

Explaining the restaurant’s name, Amrita shared with Vogue, “It’s one of my favorite songs, and it’s an ode to strong women who are also vulnerable.” She recalled that while she was copying the raw menu from her phone onto a sheet of paper, Shakeel asked her to name the restaurant. Just then, Jolene started playing in the background—making the decision feel almost fated.

Meanwhile, Amrita’s sister, Malaika Arora, has also ventured into the restaurant business with Scarlett House, which she co-founded with her son, Arhaan Khan. As reported by Architectural Digest (AD), the restaurant is housed in a charming 90-year-old Indo-Portuguese bungalow in Bandra.
