Shanghai Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2025 has kicked off with more foreign brands and designers joining one of Asia’s biggest fashion events.
With the debut of the works of Chinese renowned fashion designer Lyu Yan, the spring and summer 2025 Shanghai fashion week has officially kicked off. Lyu Yan’s new collections this season continues her style of simple cutting.
“This season continues our style of ‘big woman.’ We have combined some retro elements from the 1980s.” LYU YAN Founder of Comme Moi.
In addition to fashion debuts, showrooms with over 300 brands are in town to welcome buyers.
CHEN TONG Shanghai “It’s the second season for Shanghai Fashion Week this year, and this time around, even more foreign faces are set to be in attendance. Over 50 percent of exhibitors at the fair are international brands that are exploring opportunities throughout the Chinese market.”
It’s the first time for Vietnamese designer Linh Nga to attend a fashion week outside Vietnam. She believes her evening dress design caters to the taste of Chinese consumers.

Already toured the previous season this March, US buyer Marvin Revells is back again to Shanghai this season.
MARVIN REVELLS Fashion Buyer “It is different than Paris or New York. It seems more innovative, more technology being used and more creativity. It’s a fresh take on fashion. So far, I really enjoyed the 3D footwear that is something that is very fresh and new for us.”
Fashion activities this season will last until the seventeenth of October with hundreds of commercial and designer brands showing their looks for the spring and summer season next year.
