One can never go wrong with south indian cuisine from fluffy idlis to spicy chicken Chettinad, the food list is bound to leave you spoilt for choice. South India is famous for its coconut-based dishes that are meant to tantalise your tastebuds. Recently, a recipe of coconut chicken has gone viral on social media grabbed attention of foodies all around the world. The video of recipe showcases a man cooking delicious tender coconut chicken in an outdoor setting.

Ingredients:
2–3 tender coconuts
500g chicken (cut into pieces)
1 cup coconut water (from the tender coconuts)
2 tomatoes (chopped)
2 onions (chopped)
2–3 green chillies (sliced from the center)
A handful of garlic (crushed)
1 cup yoghurt
1 tbsp garlic paste
Salt (as per taste)
Assorted masalas (as per preference)
Banana leaf (for serving)
Crispy parottas (for pairing)
Method:
Place the tender coconuts on a table and slice off the top. Carve a hole in the middle of each coconut and pour out the water into a container. Next chop onion and tomatoes and slices green chillies from the centre. After that, take a handful of garlic and crushes them in a grinder.
For the marination of the chicken add chicken pieces in a vessel pour coconut water in it and add chopped vegetables, crushed garlic, yoghurt, garlic paste, salt, and assorted masalas. Mix well and let it marinate.
Once your chicken is marinated pour into the hollowed-out tender coconuts. Seal the top using flattened flour dough. Place the sealed coconuts over a wooden fire setup.Cook until the chicken is fully done.
Once cooked, open the coconuts and serve the chicken traditionally on a banana leaf. Pair it with crispy parottas for a delicious meal.
