Actor Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde’s film ‘Deva’ directed by Roshan Andrew resealed on theatre on January 31. It is an action movie in which Shahid Kapoor is playing a role of a cop. According to the reports movie made Rs. 5 crore roughly on its opening day.
Meanwhile Shahid Kapoor’s last outing ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,’ which opened at Rs.6.7 crore, the numbers of ‘Deva’ are dismal. However, with multiple movies competing at the box office – Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sky Force,’ Ram Charar’s ‘Game Changer’ and Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency,’ experts believe it is a decent opening for the movie. As a matter of fact, while ‘Deva’ made around Rs 5 crore on Friday, while ‘Sky Force’ minted almost half of it – Rs.2.75 crore.
Further, the occupancy rate reportedly, the movie had a 5.87% occupancy in its morning shows, 9.18% in the afternoon, and 9.77% in the evening.
It is expected that the movie will see a rise in the numbers on the weekend.
Meanwhile, ahead of the film’s release, Shahid Kapoor wrote a heartfelt note on his social media handle. He expressed how elated he was the movie was a result of his 1 year of hard work. He said, “One year of blood, sweat, and tears. 2024 was all DEVA!!! MERA DIL MERI JAAN. MERA KAAM MERI SHIDDAT. MERA ACTING KE LIYE PYAAR. MERI AUDIENCE KE LIYE MOHOBBAT.
