Summer can be brutal on your hair — heat, humidity, and UV rays all contribute to that frustrating frizz. But with a few tweaks to your hair care routine, you can keep your strands smooth and under control. Here’s how:

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
Frizz is often a sign of dryness. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner with ingredients like argan oil, shea butter, or glycerin to keep your hair soft and smooth.
Use a Microfiber Towel or Cotton T-shirt
Ditch regular towels — they can rough up the hair cuticle. Gently blot your hair with a microfiber towel or a soft cotton T-shirt to reduce friction and prevent frizz.
Apply a Leave-In Conditioner
After washing, use a leave-in conditioner to lock in moisture. Look for ones that offer anti-frizz or humidity-blocking properties.
Use Anti-Frizz Serums or Creams
A small amount of silicone-based serum or anti-frizz cream can go a long way in sealing the cuticle and blocking out humidity.
Limit Heat Styling
Too much heat = damaged, frizz-prone hair. Air-dry when possible, and when using hot tools, always apply a heat protectant spray.
Sleep on a Silk Pillowcase
Cotton pillowcases can cause breakage and frizz. Switch to silk or satin to help your hair retain moisture and reduce friction overnight.
Deep Condition Week
Use a deep conditioning mask once a week to restore hydration and repair damage caused by sun and chlorine.
Avoid Washing Too Frequently
Washing too often strips your hair of natural oils. Try to wash 2–3 times a week and use dry shampoo in between if needed.
Protect Hair from Sun and Chlorine
Wear a hat or scarf in the sun and apply a leave-in conditioner before swimming to protect from chlorine or salt water damage.
