Jane Dipika Garrett is a 24-year-old model who hails from Nepal and has won the Nepalese beauty pageant Miss Vibhaa 2023 and the Miss Nepal 2023 title. She is also a body positivity advocate.
Jane Dipika Garrett was born in United States and raised in Nepal by her American father and Nepalese mother. She is a nurse and a business developer who vehemently supports the causes of women’s physical, mental and hormonal health due to experiencing depression because of polycystic ovarian syndrome.
She came to international prominence in November 2023 when she created history by becoming the first ever plus sized contestant to participate in the Miss Universe pageant where she represented Nepal and became a semi-finalist and was the first Miss Nepal to land up in the top twenty since the year 2018.
Jane Dipika Garrett shares her goals to educate people about hormone imbalance and the effect it has on their mental health. She is a frequent social media user who showcases her insecurities of turning her back on the ideas of being fat, insufficient and ugly to owning herself, being healthy, successful and enough despite being a plus sized person. She tries to alter perceptions of women’s beauty standards and normalises size-inclusive beauty by stating that all bodies are beautiful.
In November 2024 she moved to New York City to pursue a full time modelling career. She now focuses towards her motivational speaking and advocacy work that pertains to women’s empowerment. Apart from this, she also lends a voice to the cause of healthy living with PCOS which is poly cystic ovarian syndrome, a hormonal condition found in around 1 out of 4 women.
