Kamat Hotels Honors Marathi Bhasha Diwas with festivities Across Maharashtra Properties

Celebrating the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of Maharashtra, Kamat Hotels India Ltd. (KHIL) is set to host Marathi Bhasha Diwas across their hotels in the state. The week-long festivities, starting February 21 to February 28, will feature immersive experiences, traditional activities, and gastronomic delights—bringing to life the essence of ‘मराठी अस्मिता’ and the deep-rooted pride of Maharashtrians.

Across all properties, the celebrations will feature traditional Maharashtrian décor with torans, rangoli, and cultural elements, staff dressed in authentic Maharashtrian attire, and a curated Maharashtrian menu featuring signature dishes like Puran Poli, Misal Pav, and Solkadhi. Guests will be welcomed with Namaskar greetings, Aarti, Tika, and traditional welcome drinks like Kokum Sarbat or Solkadhi, served by a hostess in a Nauvari Saree, ensuring an authentic experience. Additionally, Til Gud Ladoo will be offered daily in the lobby as a sweet gesture to engage guests with Maharashtra’s culinary traditions. In Mumbai, The Orchid Hotel, will set the stage with a grand Arc at the entrance, live flute performances, and folk-inspired décor, creating an ambiance reminiscent of Maharashtra’s vibrant traditions. Ira by Orchid in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and at Spice Oasis in Mumbai will further enhance the cultural engagement with Konkani and Maharashtrian-themed entrances, folk performances, and refreshing traditional beverages like Chhas. Pune’s Orchid Hotel will mirror the cultural splendor with similar elements like Puneri Arc, ensuring an authentic Marathi experience for guests.

At Fort JadhavGadh, the celebration will take a historical turn, featuring captivating narrations of the fort’s rich legacy, the ceremonial opening and closing of its grand doors, and daily Ganpati Mandir Aarti in the morning and evening. Visitors can immerse themselves in age-old traditions with activities like pottery, bullock cart rides, and mehendi services.
