Baby John Box Office Collection Day 2

Baby John witnessed 11.09 percent occupancy in theatres on Thursday…

Baby John box office collection Day 2, The Varun Dhawan-starrer Baby John had a mediocre start at the box office on Christmas Day, and on its second day of release, which was a regular working day, the film witnessed a sharp fall in collections. After making Rs 11.25 crore on the first day, Baby John made Rs 4.5 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. This takes the film’s net domestic total to Rs 15.75 crore.

Baby John witnessed an 11.09% occupancy in theaters on Thursday. The film had approximately 1,040 shows in the Delhi-NCR region, which recorded an 8.75% occupancy, and 793 shows in the Mumbai region, where it achieved 12.75% occupancy. Older releases like Pushpa 2: The Rule and Mufasa: The Lion King outperformed the Varun Dhawan-starrer on the same day. On its 22nd day in theaters, Pushpa 2 earned Rs 9.6 crore (with Rs 7.25 crore coming from the Hindi version), while Mufasa, completing its first week, collected Rs 7 crore on Thursday.

Marketed as a pan-Indian action film, Baby John was produced by Jawan director Atlee. The movie is a remake of Vijay’s Theri and has not fared well at the box office. It remains uncertain whether this is due to the availability of Theri’s dubbed version, making it easily accessible to viewers, or if audiences have not accepted Varun Dhawan in this role. With a reported budget of Rs 180 crore, the film also featured a cameo by Salman Khan. Directed by Kalees, Baby John starred Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi in pivotal roles.

Since 2017’s Judwaa 2 Varun hasn’t had a solo hit in the theatres his last release, 2022’s Bhediya, opened with Rs 7.48 crore and made Rs 66.65 crore during its run. Before that, Jugjugg Jeeyo, which also starred Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Kiara Advani, managed to open with Rs 9.28 crore, and made Rs 85.03 crore during its run.

Varun will next be seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari with Janhvi Kapoor. The film is being produced by Dharma Productions, and is being directed by Shashank Khaitan.
