As the nation gears up for the 76th Republic Day, metro services in Delhi have extended operations to ensure smooth transportation for citizens attending events for the event and festivities. To accommodate the commuters who are heading for Kartavya Path for the Republic Day ceremony, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will begin services at 3:00 AM on January 26, 2025. The metro trains will operate at a gap of 30 minutes and will continue to run on its earlier schedule thereafter.

Passengers will need to show their valid e-invitation cards or tickets. They will also need to show their government-issued photo-IDs at metro stations to get their special exit coupons for Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan stations. These coupons will be valid for return journeys. Attendees who are having enclosures number 1 to 9, V and V2 will need to get down at Udyog Bhawan Station, while those with enclosure number from 10 to 24 and VN are directed to deboard at Central Secretariat station.
Individuals possessing valid e-invitation cards or e-tickets for the Republic Day ceremony are required to present a government-issued photo ID at metro stations to receive special coupons. These coupons permit exit exclusively at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan stations, facilitating direct access to Kartavya Path. The same coupons are valid for return trips from these stations. Attendees with enclosures numbered 1 to 9, V1, and V2 should alight at Udyog Bhawan station, while those with enclosures numbered 10 to 24 and VN are advised to deboard at Central Secretariat station. Announcements within trains will guide passengers to their designated stations.
Travel for free on Republic Day 2024?
The Delhi Metro will provide free rides for only those who will have passes for Parade. The DMRC has advised the travellers to plan in advance and take advantage of early metro services to prevent last minute rush.
