How To Make Healthy Aloo Tikki Easily At Home 

Aloo Tikki also known as Aloo Patties is a crispy and delicious street food that is a comfort food for almost every Indian out there. Its crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside texture makes it one of the most popular chaats in India. Every time I have Aloo Tikki, its unique flavours take me back to the good old days. If you love street food then you’re definitely going to love this recipe as it is full of flavours.

Aloo Tikki is a popular North Indian street food made from boiled and grated potatoes, green peas, and a blend of spices. It’s incredibly easy to prepare at home and can be enjoyed in various ways. You can use it to make a delicious burger, pair it with chole, or turn it into a flavorful aloo chaat. You can customize your chutney with your choice you can have it with green & red chutney. In the traditional recipe, the tikkis are deep fried or shallow fried, but in this recipe we have given aloo tikki a healthy touch and make them in the oven. 

Ingredients:-

1 kg Boiled Potatoes

Salt as per taste

1 tbsp Coriander Powder

1 tbsp Roasted Cumin Seeds

1 tbsp Chaat Masala

1 small bowl Chopped Coriander

1 small bowl Boiled Peas

1 small bowl Cornflour

2 tbsp Oil

1 tbsp Red Chili Powder or Chopped Green Chilli (optional)

Bread Crumbs (for coating)

Method:-

Peel the boiled potatoes and mash them using a grater, once the potatoes are completely grated add salt, coriander powder, chaat masala, cumin seeds, chopped coriander, boiled peas and cornflour. Mix everything together using a spoon to make a dough-like mixture.Put a foil paper in the baking tray and then coat it nicely with oil. Take some potato mixture, and using the hands make ball-sized tikkis.

Roll the tikkis in breadcrumbs until they are covered nicely and place them on the baking tray.

Once all tikkis are placed on the baking tray, bake them in the oven for 35 minutes at 200C. When the tikkis are golden brown in colour take them out. Your tikkis are ready. Serve them hot with chutney of your choice.
